What Pastors & Spouses are Saying
“I have found hope and healing that my weary and grieving heart has needed for years. The journey has been long. The journey has begun. The journey will be ongoing. Don’t keep putting off facing your pains and grief any longer. It’s worth the investment you need to make to find hope and healing.”
—Pastor, October 2024
“I was able to process and rediscover God’s heart of grace and kindness towards the broken places in my heart. I loved seeing how marvelously He works to set us free even from things we may not have known we were held bondage to. It is a lot of work to invest the time and effort into this, but it is totally worth the investment. This process is centered on the gospel and its healing plan for our lives.”
—Pastor’s Wife, February 2024
“So often pastors are alone either by choice or by circumstances. We end up alone in our struggles. I know this is the first time in 30 years that I have gotten to share my pain and struggles with brothers in the Lord. There is such validation to finally speak it and then be met with such love, support, and care. The body of Christ is a real thing, and there is a spiritual transaction that happens when we bear one another’s burdens and we stand with one another. I appreciated that this week.”
—Pastor, February 2023
“There is something whole, healing, and strengthening as I take my eyes off myself and my problems and stand with other brothers to bear their burdens. That is what community is, and that is what koinonia is. It is not good that we are so often alone in our struggles, and this has opened my eyes to the fact that we need each other and the body of Christ as we go back to our circumstances and situations. We need the spirit-enabled community and koinonia fellowship where Christ is if we are going to stay whole. Thank you for what you have been to me these last four days.”
—Pastor, February 2023
“The Healing Week was beneficial in countless ways: from the clear materials, schedule of our time, and anointed and skilled leaders, all was done with a spirit of excellence and greatly appreciated. Don’t miss a chance for rest, refreshing, and an opportunity to begin to understand true freedom from wounds. The Healing Week is an investment in your life that has the potential to change the trajectory of your future with God’s help and your cooperation.”
—Pastor’s Wife, February 2023
“It met and far exceeded my expectations. The delightfully surprising part was the interactions with one another as guys. We need to hear stories to bear one another’s burdens. We need to pray for one another. Whether giving or receiving in prayer, ministry takes place together, particularly as ministry leaders. We are in a battle like warriors, but we don’t often get the time to come alongside and address our wounds or take the time for those things. This provided for that opportunity individually and as a couple in an incredible way. The value of being together was awesome. I am so grateful.”

Cyndy & Bryan Sherwood
Cyndy Sherwood is the co-founder and Creative Director of His Healing Light Ministries (HHLM). A Bible teacher since 1972, she began creating The Healing Journey in 2000; after nine years of seeking the Lord through her suffering and pain, Cyndy discovered God’s truths that heal and restore us to the fullness of life that He intends for all of us. She has written five Bible studies, three devotionals, a nonfiction book, “Road Map to Healing,” and her story, “My Healing Journey: From Surviving to Thriving.”
Cyndy’s husband, Bryan Sherwood, is the Director of Operations for HHLM and oversees the ministry. While Cyndy originally wrote The Healing Journey for women, Bryan knew God’s principles were for everyone. So, he began a men’s class in 2009. God used this group to bring great healing to Bryan’s heart and mind. Years later, he filmed the Men’s Healing Journey and The Healing Weekend with Cyndy. Bryan and Cyndy live in Colorado Springs and have many adult children and grandchildren.

- Others who attend THW have taken the 29-week Healing Journey, but they want a “tune-up” or have experienced a difficult season in their ministry and want healing for recent events.
What happens in the Large Group, Individual Work, and Small Group times?
- In the large groups, we will watch eight, 30-minute video lessons which are taught by either Cyndy or Bryan Sherwood.
- Individual work is a time for you to process the lesson after the video and privately record answers in a workbook about the topic or healing step that was taught.
- In the small group, the leader will guide you through the topic or healing step and pray for you. Everything shared during the small group is safely confidential.
Can I be in a Small Group with my spouse or a friend?
Do I have to read my Story in front of everyone?
